About
Patouche Collective is a Cape Breton-based ensemble built around the long-standing musical partnership of Maxim Cormier and his father, Gervais Cormier. After years of performing and arranging together, they have expanded their collaboration into a dynamic collective of award-winning musicians deeply rooted in Cape Breton’s Celtic and Acadian traditions.
Blending fiddle-driven repertoire with innovative guitar and bass arrangements, the group reimagines the sound of Cape Breton music while remaining grounded in the traditions that shaped it. Their self-titled debut album, set for release in August 2026, explores the rich musical connections between Scottish and Acadian influences and celebrates a repertoire that has become a shared part of Cape Breton’s cultural landscape, embraced across generations and communities.
With a focus on live performance, Patouche Collective delivers a powerful, collaborative sound that honours tradition while pushing it forward.
